Hello and welcome to my writer’s life blog. I sit and write this on the eve of January 1st 2021. Wow what a year 2020 has been. For me, for the world. As above, so below. I intend to use this space to share my writing with you, both my personal and professional endeavors. I will share first drafts and ideas, my goals, collaborations and achievements, as well as my personal writing struggles and challenges to overcome. This space is for authenticity. Audacity. Unpolished boldness and a little badassery. In short a space that illuminates everything me – Elizabeth Maria.
2020 has been a year full of growth and opportunities. I found myself in Pennsylvania at the beginning of the year continuing my lessons of walking away from what no longer serves. I traveled to Buffalo New York and Bangor Maine with a good friend while writing, studying, and learning to fully embrace who I am in all my silly creative glory. I was contacted by Central Square Press to publish my first chapbook, wrote business and investment portfolios for a medical marijuana company, wrote an award winning grant for Rustic Roots Sanctuary, was accepted to FSU’s MSW program, was selected to participate in Tupelo Press’ 30/30 project for February 2021, and began the arduous process of creating my business Elizabeth Maria Unlimited.
And did I mention I also laughed, danced, lived in several caravans, air b&b’s, hotels, co created with beautiful souls, celebrated my grandmother’s 100th birthday, marched in solidarity with BLM, re invigorated my commitment to whole food living, bought a Mini Cooper I named Lady Green Bean, judged a writing contest, got tattooed, picked blueberries, edited several manuscripts, traveled to Asheville NC with my wonderful daughter Eris (who declared her English Major status this year!!!), wrote two award winning grants for myself in order to continue my creative work, moved into a super cute apartment in Griffin GA, sang and wrote country songs, walked in a whole lotta nature, started doing weekly channeled tarot readings, and grew some plants. One named Oscar the Mint…who I love like the sweet lil cutting he is.
I might have lost a few more screws along the way, but gained insight, cultivated chutzpah (like I need it), re connected with wonderful beautiful members of my soul tribe, and always, always, always, stayed grateful and thanked Great Spirit for the connections and the lessons. 2020 was a year of embracing who Elizabeth Maria really is–a big bold and beautiful woman full of love and spunk and not afraid to bask in the wonder of it all and say, hey, its all about experience and connection…right?
I am thankful for the time to write and connect. To help create a world of peace and prosperity, to stand up for what I believe in, and to just finally fully embrace me. Join me this year 2021. If last year was any indication, we’re in for one hell of a ride!!
