My Food Journey

I am passionate about natural foods, holistic health, and herbology. I started my food journey in my preteens when I became vegetarian. After living off cheese pizza and sandwiches for several years, I expanded my knowledge of whole foods and vegetarianism.  When I was twenty-one, I read the book Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss. The Classic Guide to Herbal Medicine, Natural Foods, and Home Remedies changed my life. I learned that food was not just for energy but also a healing force and the number one way individuals can control their health.

Since then, I’ve independently studied the benefits of natural foods and herbal remedies and believe the way forward includes small-scale agricultural initiatives and herbal apothecaries. I believe mind, body, and spirit wholeness stems from whole foods and holistic health…after all, we are what we eat.

Elizabeth Mara came in the top ten of her group in the 2023 Favorite Chef competition.
